Jerry's Appliance Repair has run on one plain idea since 1985: the technician who tests your appliance is the one who repairs it, and the price you were quoted is the price on the invoice.
Four decades on the same coast
We opened in Jupiter in 1985 and never moved, working outward from the shop on Maplewood Drive through Palm Beach County and up into Martin County. Four decades in one place teaches a company things no training course gets near: what salt air does to a condenser at Juno Beach, what untreated well water out toward Tequesta does to a dishwasher heating element, and why a house on Palm Beach that has stood closed all summer always calls in the first week of the season.
It has also kept us small on purpose. The person who answers the phone works here. The van that turns up belongs to us. Nothing gets sold on to a subcontractor you have never spoken to.
How a visit goes
Repairs happen where the appliance already stands. There is no workshop to drive a machine to and no queue to join. A technician comes to you inside a two hour window with the parts that most often give out on your particular model already loaded.
The order never changes. Test the appliance properly, on live readings and on whatever record the machine has kept for itself, rather than on a hunch. Give one price for the part and the work together. Wait for you to say yes. Only then does anything come apart.
What we do differently
Diagnostics come first, the quote comes second. The gap between a cheap part and an expensive one is often a single reading. Swapping parts until something works is fast for the technician and costly for whoever is paying.
We will tell you not to bother. When a repair would run past half the price of a comparable new machine and yours is already beyond two thirds of its life, we say to replace it. Losing one job beats selling a part nobody should be buying.
Built-ins are ordinary work here. Refrigeration columns, integrated dishwashers, wine cellars and professional ranges make up a large share of our week on Palm Beach, Jupiter Island and through Admirals Cove. Drawing a panel ready unit out of custom joinery without marking it is slow work, and we do not hurry it.
Weekends cost what weekdays cost. No after hours surcharge on a scheduled appointment, Saturday or Sunday.
Our technicians
They are trained on the makes they service and hold EPA certification for sealed system refrigeration. They carry manufacturer documentation and diagnostic tooling for all twenty-four makes we support, from Whirlpool and GE through to Thermador, Wolf, Miele, Liebherr and La Cornue.
They also carry one instruction that outranks the rest: say what happened, in plain language, before quoting anything.
