Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to jerrysappliancepros.com and to the repair work carried out by Jerry's Appliance Repair ("we", "us"). Using the site or booking an appointment means accepting them.

1. The work we do

We carry out in-home diagnostics and repair on household appliances: refrigerators, freezers, cooktops, ranges, ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, ice makers, wine cellars, built-in coffee machines and trash compactors. Any appointment depends on a technician being free, on parts being obtainable, and on safe access to the machine.

2. Appointments

Visits are scheduled inside a two hour arrival window. Traffic, a job that overruns and severe weather can all move that window, and we will contact you if it moves. Somebody aged 18 or over has to be at the property throughout the visit.

3. Diagnostics and the quote

A service call fee applies to each visit and is told to you when you book. Approve the recommended repair and the fee is credited in full against the total. Decline it and the fee stands, because it pays for travel, time and an assessment that has already been done.

Repair quotes are flat rate and given once the diagnostics are finished. If something else comes to light after work has begun, we stop and ask before going further.

4. Payment

Payment falls due when the work is finished unless a different arrangement was agreed in writing first. We take the payment methods advertised at the time of the visit. Unpaid balances may attract collection costs so far as the law allows.

5. Warranty

Our labor is warranted for 30 days from the date the repair was completed, and any part we install carries the manufacturer warranty for that part. The warranty attaches to that specific repair and that specific part. It does not extend to:

• A new or unrelated problem appearing after our visit.
• Damage from misuse, a power surge, salt or water intrusion, pests, an installation done by somebody else, or continued use of a machine we advised you to stop using.
• An appliance worked on by another party after our visit.
• Cosmetic wear, and consumables such as filters, bulbs, belts and gaskets used up in normal service.

Claims come to us directly. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy sets out how they are handled.

6. The condition of the appliance

We repair appliances in the condition we find them. We may decline a machine that is unsafe, that somebody else has repaired badly, that has water, salt or pest damage, or for which parts are no longer made. Where an appliance cannot be repaired economically we say so and charge only the service call fee.

Moving a built-in appliance carries unavoidable risk to flooring, joinery and connections. We take reasonable care, but we cannot accept liability for existing weaknesses in flooring, cabinetry, plumbing or wiring that give way when an appliance is moved.

7. Access and safety

Providing safe, clear access and telling us about known hazards is the customer responsibility. Where a property or a machine presents a real risk to our technician we reserve the right to leave and charge the service call fee.

8. What is published here

Everything on this site is general information. It is not a promise that a particular problem can be repaired, or repaired at a particular price. Price ranges shown are typical examples rather than quotes. Please do not attempt the repairs described here yourself: gas and high voltage work is dangerous and in many places regulated.

9. Trademarks

All manufacturer names, brand names, logos and model designations on this site belong to their owners and appear for identification only. Jerry's Appliance Repair is an independent repair company. Naming a brand implies no affiliation with, endorsement by or authorization from that manufacturer unless we say so expressly.

10. Our own material

The text, layout, graphics and code of this site belong to Jerry's Appliance Repair and may not be copied or republished without permission.

11. Limits on liability

So far as the law allows, our total liability arising from any service or from your use of this site is limited to what you paid us for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including spoiled food, lost income, or property damage not caused directly by our own negligence.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the state where the service was carried out, and any dispute will be heard in that state.

13. Changes

These terms may be updated. Whatever version is published here when you book is the version that applies to your service.
