Dryer Repair
Ask us what breaks dryers in Palm Beach and Martin County and the honest answer is ductwork. Runs that climb into an attic and turn three corners are the local standard, and once lint has coated one the machine simply breathes its own damp air. We put a meter on the airflow at the outside hood before touching the cabinet, partly because it is usually the answer and partly because a blocked run is a fire risk nobody should be living with.
We have been doing dryer work out of the same Jupiter shop since 1985, and the order of things has never changed: read the appliance, then quote it. A technician takes live readings, looks at whatever the machine has logged for itself, and only then names a part, because on this appliance the gap between a cheap repair and an expensive one often comes down to one measurement.
What the appointment looks like
You get a two hour window rather than a whole day to wait through, and the technician calls before setting off. Once the dryer has been tested you are told plainly what happened and given a single price for the part and the work together. Nothing comes apart until you have said yes to it.
Roughly three in four dryer repairs finish on that first visit, because the van is loaded from our own record of what actually gives out on this appliance along this coast. If something has to be ordered you get the date before we leave, and the return slot is booked there and then rather than chased up later.
Who builds this appliance
Every make we service that builds this appliance is set out further down, Miele, Asko, LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Maytag among them. Who made it matters more than most owners expect. A Miele and a GE will happily show the same error for entirely different reasons, and the road to the answer runs differently on each.
Repair it or replace it?
You will get a straight answer. The rule we hold ourselves to is simple: if a repair would run past half the price of a comparable new machine and the unit is already beyond two thirds of its expected life, replacing it is usually the better spend. Under that line, and on almost any built-in or professional appliance, repair wins easily. We would rather lose the job than sell a part nobody should be buying.
Towns we do this work in
Dryer Repair is available in all nine towns on our route: Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach, Tequesta, Hobe Sound, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Stuart and Jupiter Island. The price, the warranty and the arrival window are identical in every one, and nothing is added for travel inside the ZIP codes listed on our service area pages.

What the dryer is telling you
Ask us what breaks dryers in Palm Beach and Martin County and the honest answer is ductwork.
Running, but no heat at all
On an electric machine that is the element or one of the two thermal cut-offs, and a blown cut-off is worth understanding: it is a result, not a cause, and something choked the airflow first. On gas it is normally the igniter or the flame sensor.
Two or three cycles to dry a load
Restricted venting, almost without exception. Lint packs along the run, at the elbows and behind the outside flapper, and the dryer ends up breathing back the moisture it just removed. Clear the duct properly and the original cycle time comes straight back.
A squeal or rumble that tracks the drum
Drum rollers, the idler pulley or the rear bearing, depending on the platform. Cheap parts, and worth doing as a set, because they all wear at the same rate.
Starts, then stops a few minutes in
A thermal limit opening as the cabinet warms, or the motor tripping its own overload. Both point back at airflow, so the duct gets checked before anything is ordered.
Motor running, drum standing still
The belt has parted. Same visit repair on nearly every machine, and we look at the idler and rollers while the cabinet is open, because a seized roller is usually what killed the belt.
A burning smell while it runs
Switch it off and ring us. That is lint that has found the heater housing or the motor, and it is the one dryer problem that should never be left until Monday.
Manufacturers that build dryer appliances
These are the makes we service that build this appliance. Each brand page sets out the full range that manufacturer makes and what tends to give out on it.
What happens once you call
The shape of a visit is the same whichever appliance it is and whichever town on the coast you are in.
- Two hour window, confirmed by phone or text
- One price, approved by you before anything comes apart
- Nothing on the invoice you did not agree to
Tell us what it is doing
Ring the shop or book online and describe what you are seeing: the make, the model number if it is to hand, and what happens when you run the machine. Detail here is what decides whether the right part leaves on the van.
We test it properly
A technician arrives inside a two hour window, reads whatever the appliance has logged for itself, tests the circuit that points at, and tells you in plain language what happened.
You say yes to one price
One price for the finished job, given before anything comes apart. Say yes and most repairs are done that same visit, with 30 days on labor written on the invoice.

dryer repair questions
How often does a vent want clearing?
Once a year for a short straight run and twice a year for a long run with several elbows or an attic route. Households drying beach towels and bedding daily get there sooner. The clue to watch for is cycle time creeping up over a season.
Is a heat pump dryer worth having?
They are gentle on fabric and use far less energy, and Miele and Bosch build very good ones. They also run cooler and therefore slower, and they have a condenser that has to be rinsed on a schedule. If nobody in the house will do that rinse, a vented machine will give less trouble.
Will you work on a stacked pair?
Yes. The pair has to come apart to reach the drum and the heater, which takes longer than a freestanding machine, so the appointment is booked with that time in it. Putting the pair back together and levelling them is part of the visit, not an extra.
