It never reaches the number on the display
On a thermoelectric cabinet that usually means the Peltier module or its fan, and those can only pull the cabinet so far below the room, which in Florida is a real limitation. On a compressor model it points at the sealed system, the condenser or the board.
One zone holds, the other drifts
A damper, a zone fan or a sensor. Two zone cabinets share cold air between the spaces, so a damper stuck in one position gives precisely this pattern and is a short repair.
Condensation on the inside of the glass
The door seal, the heater element in the glass where one is present, or a cabinet asked to hold a very low temperature in a humid room. All three are fixable once we know which.
A hum you can hear from the next room
Compressor mounts, a fan blade catching, or a cabinet pressed hard against joinery with no clearance. Noise aside, the vibration keeps sediment moving in the bottles, which is the real cost.
The interior light staying on
A door switch the board has stopped seeing. Left alone the lamp lifts the top of the cabinet several degrees, which is enough to matter to the top two rows.
Running constantly, never cycling off
A condenser nobody has cleared in years, a gasket that has lost its grip, or a cabinet installed without the clearance its maker asked for. Built-ins breathe through the front grille, and blocking it is the commonest install error we see.

What temperature should a wine cellar hold?
Around 55 degrees for long term storage of most wine, with reds served nearer 60 and whites nearer 48. What matters more than the exact number is that it stays steady. A cabinet swinging eight degrees through the day does more harm than one holding firm two degrees away from ideal.
Is a thermoelectric cellar worth repairing?
Sometimes. They are quiet and gentle, but they can only pull the cabinet a fixed number of degrees below the room, so one standing in a warm Florida utility room will look broken when it is simply outmatched. We check the room first, and on a small cabinet with a genuinely failed module we will be honest about the economics.
Can a built-in wine cellar be pulled out for service?
Yes, carefully. Integrated cabinets are fixed to the surrounding joinery and the front grille has to stay clear for airflow, so we allow the time to take it out and put it back properly. Where a countertop traps the cabinet, most of the work can still be done from the front.
