Dishwasher Repair
Dishwashers complain quietly, which is why most of them are left far too long. Around Jupiter they also drink water that is harder than the manufacturer had in mind, so scale does slow damage to heaters and spray arms. A visit from us always takes in the water temperature at the tap, the state of the filter and the arms, and how the drain was plumbed under the sink, because a third of poor cleaning turns out to be plumbing rather than machinery.
We have been doing dishwasher work out of the same Jupiter shop since 1985, and the order of things has never changed: read the appliance, then quote it. A technician takes live readings, looks at whatever the machine has logged for itself, and only then names a part, because on this appliance the gap between a cheap repair and an expensive one often comes down to one measurement.
What the appointment looks like
You get a two hour window rather than a whole day to wait through, and the technician calls before setting off. Once the dishwasher has been tested you are told plainly what happened and given a single price for the part and the work together. Nothing comes apart until you have said yes to it.
Roughly three in four dishwasher repairs finish on that first visit, because the van is loaded from our own record of what actually gives out on this appliance along this coast. If something has to be ordered you get the date before we leave, and the return slot is booked there and then rather than chased up later.
Who builds this appliance
Every make we service that builds this appliance is set out further down, Miele, Bosch, Asko, Thermador, KitchenAid, Monogram among them. Who made it matters more than most owners expect. A Miele and a Fisher & Paykel will happily show the same error for entirely different reasons, and the road to the answer runs differently on each.
Repair it or replace it?
You will get a straight answer. The rule we hold ourselves to is simple: if a repair would run past half the price of a comparable new machine and the unit is already beyond two thirds of its expected life, replacing it is usually the better spend. Under that line, and on almost any built-in or professional appliance, repair wins easily. We would rather lose the job than sell a part nobody should be buying.
Towns we do this work in
Dishwasher Repair is available in all nine towns on our route: Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach, Tequesta, Hobe Sound, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Stuart and Jupiter Island. The price, the warranty and the arrival window are identical in every one, and nothing is added for travel inside the ZIP codes listed on our service area pages.

What the dishwasher is telling you
Dishwashers complain quietly, which is why most of them are left far too long.
A white film or grit on the glassware
Water, nine times out of ten: incoming temperature too low, a filter left uncleaned, spray arm holes closed with scale, or a detergent dose meant for softer water. We measure instead of guessing, and on wells around Tequesta the hardness alone explains it.
Water still standing when the cycle ends
A blocked drain hose, a pump impeller jammed on a fragment of glass or a label, or a sink air gap silted up. On plenty of machines it turns out to be the check valve in the sump, which is a short repair.
Stops partway with the lights blinking
The machine has logged an error and is holding it until somebody reads it. Reading it and metering the circuit it names beats working through parts in order of price, both in time and in what you end up paying.
A puddle in front of the machine
Gaskets go hard and shrink with age, and the lower door seal is normally first to go. A spray arm that has come adrift can throw water straight at the door, while a leak from underneath usually means the sump gasket or the pump seal.
The detergent cup staying shut
The wax motor or the release solenoid has stopped working, or residue has glued the flap down. Either way the wash runs with no detergent in it at all, which owners quite fairly read as the machine cleaning badly.
No heat, or nothing dry at the end
The element, the high limit thermostat, or on a condensing machine a vent flap that has stuck. Worth saying: Bosch, Miele and Asko dry by condensation rather than with an element, so a slightly damp load on those is the machine working as designed.
Manufacturers that build dishwasher appliances
These are the makes we service that build this appliance. Each brand page sets out the full range that manufacturer makes and what tends to give out on it.
What happens once you call
The shape of a visit is the same whichever appliance it is and whichever town on the coast you are in.
- Two hour window, confirmed by phone or text
- One price, approved by you before anything comes apart
- Nothing on the invoice you did not agree to
Tell us what it is doing
Ring the shop or book online and describe what you are seeing: the make, the model number if it is to hand, and what happens when you run the machine. Detail here is what decides whether the right part leaves on the van.
We test it properly
A technician arrives inside a two hour window, reads whatever the appliance has logged for itself, tests the circuit that points at, and tells you in plain language what happened.
You say yes to one price
One price for the finished job, given before anything comes apart. Say yes and most repairs are done that same visit, with 30 days on labor written on the invoice.

dishwasher repair questions
Why do my glasses look cloudy even after a hot wash?
There are two different causes and they need opposite answers. Mineral scale wipes off with a vinegar rinse and tells you about water hardness. Etching is permanent damage to the glass surface, caused by very soft water and too much detergent, and no repair reverses it. Hand one glass to the technician and the question is settled in seconds.
Why does a cycle take so long now?
Longer than most people expect. A normal cycle on a current machine runs two to three hours, because low water use and low energy use are only possible with long soak and rinse phases. A machine that finishes a normal cycle in forty minutes is usually skipping the heat phase, and that is worth looking into.
Eight years old. Worth mending or not?
On a mid range machine with a failed circulation pump the repair starts to approach half the price of a new unit, and we will say so plainly. Miele, Bosch, Asko, Thermador and Monogram machines are a different calculation: stainless tubs and serviceable pumps mean repairing one at eight years is simply good sense.
